The Gold 45/100 was designed later than the Gold Std. It was loosely based on the Gold side in Shift mode. It was tweaked and refined from there. Over the years, people have asked about that. Owners of the 45/100 sometimes asked if I could put that circuit into the Gold Std. I finally made one from a request and here is what they said about the result:

It’s amazing how good it sounds…it’s by far the best overdrive pedal I’ve ever used and it looks awesome too! It’s incredible at 18v with that mod you did to the shift side. I’m using a ‘74 Marshall Super Lead, a 4×12 with 25w greenbacks, and with my Les Paul…the way I’ve got it set up, it’s nailing that live Jimmy Page tone from Madison Square Garden. On top of that, it stacks seamlessly with not only itself, but all the rest of the pedals on my board. I’ve tried so many other brands and different types of pedals (Nordvang, Vemuram, LPD, King Tone, Suhr, a vintage ‘83 Ibanez TS808, a couple of different Klon clones…yours is the best sounding, most natural and versatile. If you haven’t done it before, you might want to consider marking it as a different version of the Gold Standard?! Just a thought! I’m not sure if you played it before you sent it out, but holy crap…it rips!! haha and I haven’t even tried it with my Strat yet! Thanks again for the outstanding pedal and the custom leds!!
