After being out of production for a year, the original Gold Standard (V2) is back! This has been a favorite since its introduction in 2009. It is on many pro boards and it is simply an overdrive workhorse that offers tonal flexibility because of the seamless way the two channels interact when stacked.

This pedal is outstanding. Just as good as any other double od I have but it has it’s own voice. It’s not trying to be something else. Works wonderful with a fuzz face style circuit too. Super heavy duty enclosure and built like a tank. The least expensive and best sounding double od in my collection which includes some heavy hitters: Gladio, Gravity, Protein. All costing at least twice as much. Best bang for your buck double od I’ve found. Get one, you’ll be glad you did!

Honeymoon phase over on this one for me. But still, very time a “new shiny object” pops up in the pedal world. I look down at my board that sits next to my PC desk, And realize (again). That, no I’m fine with the Gold handling the majority of my dirt needs. Between the 2 diff. voiced sides, the character switch on the right side, stacking both…..yeah, I’m good.

This pedal is awesome! Has many different tones, Many amazing combinations of settings between the two sides! and the price is ridiculously low for such a dynamic pedal!

Where has this pedal been all my life?
Jeff Beck? Gary Moore? EJ? Hendrix?
They’re all in there…
Gorgeous after a fuzz face or tone bender, the Helium side tightens everything up and makes my strats sing!
Tone controls have tons or range, but are never shrill, bright or icepick.
Makes all my strats sound thick, meaty, articulate and punchy.
Run it at 18v for more!
This thing CRUSHES other drives at double the money.
Beautiful build quality, built like a tank!
Buy one…you won’t regret it

Phenomenal sound. This pedal does some magic that I have no idea but the notes ring out well and sustain.

This is easily the most versatile gain stage pedal I’ve ever owned. The Gold side adds just enough compression at the lower end of the gain knob to call it a transparent overdrive. Switch it on, and the tone instantly sounds more tight and focused. Back off on your guitar’s volume and it cleans up completely. Wind up, and you get that edge of breakup sound. The top end of the gain knob is similar to a full tilt vintage
American amp. The shift knob helps me keep a relatively consistent sound switching from P90s to humbuckers. Having it with the Helium in the same pedal is brilliant. The Helium side is less about compression and more of a dynamic boost with tone controls. If I need a bold clean for a surf guitar lead, there it is! Stacking them can take you from crunchy rhythm to searing lead or push your amp as hard as it will go – without going deaf.
